By 2:30 a.m. there were 45 men in all at the lumber camp. This being a majority of the
class, everyone took his place, and enjoyed the feast of roast beef, creamed potatoes, fruit and
cabbage salad, rolls, baked beans, coffee, cookies, and pie. After the banquet a few remarks
were made by the president and the upperclassmen, and then everyone settled around the fire
smoking, and, congratulating themselves on outsmarting the sophs, talking until the party broke
up at dawn. Everyone arrived back in town about 7:30 a.m., just in time for 8:00 classes.
