Before graduation, all had secured positions for the next year as follows: Alley and Kendall with
Lackawanna Steel Co., at Buffalo; Ames and Baron with the New York State Barge Canal; Bardett, Campbell,
Jones, and Smith with Topographic Aids, US Coast and Geodetic Survey; Burton with Canadian Pacific Railway
in Canada; Cheesman with Public Service Commission, New York City; Clapper and Wagner with Westinghouse
Electric Co., Pittsburgh; Cowie with the US Coast and Geodetic Survey, Washington, D.C.; Gaffney with B.F.
Sturtevant Blower Co., Hyde Park, Mass.; D. Noyes with the Department of Good Roads, Washington, D.C.;
Wood with Boston and Maine RR., Johnsbury, Vt.; Woodworth with the J.G. White Co., Shelburne, Mass.; and M.
Noyes with Aluminum Company of America in Tennessee.
Curriculum.
The curriculum required 18 credit hours each term, with the first two terms being
almost identical for all students. Three semesters of French or German were required as were
shops in woodworking, forging, machine work, and surveying.
Starting Salaries.
The average salary of graduates of one year was $881; of five years, $1,646;
and 10 years, $3,080.
Conditional Exam.
The examination to remove second semester conditionals was held on
September 10, 1912. A fee of $2.50 was charged for each examination in such subjects taken at
any other time. Each student was to consult his home report to ascertain if he had conditions to
be removed.
