Student Prank.
Sophomores insured themselves good marks in physics by the simple
expedient of recording their own grades. While the professor was sketching a problem on the
blackboard with his back to the class, a student snitched the roll book from his desk which was
passed around the class for revision of grades, all of which were raised at least to a C (the
equivalent of the modern B). So all received C, all, that is, except the young man who swiped
the book; he forgot to change his own grade. The professor never got wise.
